ROP-Check by Glacier Medical Software

A management paradigm for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)

Vision Statement: By integrating information, ROP-Check aims to help eliminate ROP blindness worldwide.

Mission Statement:  ROP-Check will provide the best-available, real-time information to help infants avoid ROP blindness anywhere in the world.

Features: Neonatal Intensive Care Units can easily enter, modify, monitor and report the ROP screening process based on regionally approved and updated referral guidelines (based on gestational age and birth weight) with the critical added benefit of re-introducing supra-threshold infants based on medical condition 2-3 weeks into their hospital admission. The Ophthalmologist views risk variables immediately on first encounter and can quickly stage the degree of ROP complete with colored drawings. Follow up visits are scheduled and confirmed.  Complete billing codes for exams, consults and ROP treatment are generated.  Reports are generated for individual patient visits and treatment, discharge summary that can be exported to hospital EMRs.   Reports are also for unit-wide monitoring of pending , current and past patients. Parents receive general and specific information and consents regarding their infant. [VIRTUAL TOUR]

Architecture:  ROP-Check is a state-of-the-art, web-based software management program designed for neonatologists, ophthalmologists, parents and NICU coordinators.

DESCRIPTION OF CLOUD COMPUTING

XTML (works on Windows, Mac OS, IOS platforms. Tablet computerss)

 ON THE CLOUD

 FOR AZURE

Advantages of cloud-based software: The infantŐs family and doctors can access critical medical information where ever they receive care instantly from the internet.

Limitations [current] of cloud-based software: Adopting a cloud-based system by the hospital IT department requires interaction with outside data.  Searching and sorting are different with Cloud-based data than locally-based SQL databases.
